A hidden tempo plays. Guess it by ear — or tap along and let the counter answer for you. Five rounds per game.

Difficulty
  • Easy — 60–180 BPM, whole numbers
  • Normal — 50–200 BPM
  • Hard — 40–240 BPM, no accent

Best score:

How scoring works

Each round awards up to 100 points. Guess the exact tempo and you get all of them; you lose points the further off you are, and a guess more than 30 BPM out scores nothing.

Tapping along is allowed and is how most musicians would do it in practice. Guessing by ear alone is harder, and better training.

How to get better at this

  • Learn a few anchors: 60 BPM is one beat a second, 120 is two, 174 is drum and bass.
  • Count "one-and-two-and" against the click — if the "and" feels rushed you are above 140.
  • Compare with a track you know well rather than guessing a number cold.
